Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the chopped onion and green bell pepper over medium heat until they are soft and caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the cooked onions and peppers with ground beef, provolone cheese, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until everything is well combined.
  4. Shape the meat mixture into a loaf and place it in a baking dish.
Cooking
  1. Bake for about 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  2. During the last 10-15 minutes of baking, sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top. Allow it to melt and become golden.

Notes

Serve sliced with mashed potatoes or roasted vegetables. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days. Use lean ground beef for moisture. Chop vegetables finely for even cooking. Consider using Cheez Whiz for an authentic cheesesteak flavor or adding sautéed mushrooms.
