For the Cinnamon Filling
  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
For the Cream Cheese Glaze
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2–3 tablespoons milk Adjust for desired consistency

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract. Mix well.
Assembly
  1. In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients. Stir until fully mixed.
  2. Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon for the filling. Spread this mixture evenly over the batter in the baking dish.
  4. Top with the remaining batter by dolloping spoonfuls across the filling and gently spreading it.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
Glazing
  1. While the bars cool, make the cream cheese glaze. In a bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk. Mix until creamy. Adjust milk for desired consistency.

Notes

Best served at room temperature or slightly warmed. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or refrigerate for up to a week.
