Method

Cooking the Beef Filling

  2. Add the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, shredded carrots, chopped bell peppers, and fresh basil leaves.
  3. Stir to mix everything well and let it cook for a few more minutes until the vegetables have softened slightly.
  4. Remove from heat.
Rolling the Rolls
  1. Prepare a shallow dish with warm water.
  2. Dip one rice paper wrapper into the water for about 10-15 seconds until it softens.
  3. Lay the wrapper on a clean surface.
  4. Place a spoonful of the beef filling in the center.
  5. Fold the sides over the filling, then roll the wrapper tightly from the bottom to the top.
  6. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.

Notes

Serve the Thai Basil Beef Rolls warm or at room temperature. They can be enjoyed on their own or with a dipping sauce like sweet chili sauce or a simple soy sauce mix. If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about 2-3 days. You can also freeze the rolls before cooking them. To reheat, thaw and warm them in a skillet until heated through.
