Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour two round cake pans.

Baking
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cooling and Decorating
- Let the cakes cool in the pans for about 10 minutes, then transfer them to wire racks to cool completely.
- Once cool, you can frost and decorate the cake as desired.
Notes
Make sure all ingredients are at room temperature before you start. Use a toothpick to check if the cake is done. It should come out clean or with a few crumbs. For a more decadent cake, consider using chocolate or cream cheese frosting. Experiment with different flavors by adding zest from citrus fruits or other extracts.
