Ingredients
  

For the cake
  • 1 cup cake flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
For the filling
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
  • 1 cup strawberries, sliced Use fresh strawberries for best flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine cake flour, sugar, milk, melted butter, vanilla extract, and baking powder until smooth.
  3. Spread the batter evenly onto the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the edges are golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  5. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely.
Assembly
  1. Whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar together until stiff peaks form.
  2. Once the cake has cooled, spread a layer of whipped cream over the top and place sliced strawberries on top.
  3. Carefully roll the cake into a log, starting from one edge.
Serving
  1. Slice into bite-sized pieces and roll the edges in granulated sugar.
  2. Serve on a beautiful platter, optionally with extra strawberries or a drizzle of chocolate sauce on the side.

Notes

To store leftover sushi, keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two days. Whipped cream should be added just before serving for best taste. Make sure the cake is completely cool before rolling to prevent it from breaking. You can also try using different fruits like blueberries or raspberries.
