For the sushi base
  • 2 cups sushi rice Rinse under cold water before cooking
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
For the salmon mixture
  • 1 pound salmon fillet, cooked and flaked
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sriracha sauce Adjust for spiciness
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
Toppings
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 2 pieces green onions, sliced
  • 1 sheet nori, cut into strips
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  3. Cook the rice according to package instructions.
  4. Once cooked, mix the rice with rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Spread the rice evenly in a baking dish.
Assembly and Baking
  1. In a bowl, combine the flaked salmon, mayonnaise, sriracha, and soy sauce.
  2. Spread the salmon mixture over the prepared rice.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, until heated through.
Serving
  1. Top with sliced avocado, green onions, and nori strips.
  2. Garnish with sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

Ensure the rice is cooked perfectly; it should be sticky. Adjust sriracha to taste. You can add other toppings like cucumber or sesame oil.
