Ingredients
  

Dough Ingredients
  • 1 cup active sourdough starter Make sure it's active for the best rise.
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Filling Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened for filling
Icing Ingredients
  • 1 cup powdered sugar For icing
  • 2 tablespoons milk For icing
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract For icing

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, mix the sourdough starter, milk, sugar, melted butter, and eggs.
  2. Gradually add flour and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead for about 5-10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Let rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours or overnight in the refrigerator.
Baking
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle.
  3. Spread softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  4. Roll up the dough tightly and slice into rolls.
  5. Place in a greased baking dish and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
Icing
  1. For the icing, mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  2. Drizzle icing over warm rolls and enjoy!

Notes

Serve warm, topped with icing for an extra sweet treat. Store leftover rolls in an airtight container for up to two days.
