Ingredients
  

Dough Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup active sourdough starter Ensure it is active and bubbly.
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
Filling Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
For Dusting
  • Additional flour For dusting the surface while rolling the dough.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sourdough starter, milk, sugar, melted butter, salt, and egg. Mix until a dough forms.
  2. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-10 minutes until smooth.
  3. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise overnight in the refrigerator.
Baking
  1. In the morning, roll out the dough into a rectangle. Spread melted butter over the surface and sprinkle with cinnamon and brown sugar.
  2. Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice into rolls.
  3. Place rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let them rise for about 1-2 hours.
  4. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Allow to cool slightly, then serve warm.

Notes

Serve warm with a drizzle of icing, or enjoy plain. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
