Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef for browning
  • 4 large russet potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 can (15 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese for topping

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by browning the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Drain any excess fat, then transfer the browned beef to your slow cooker.
  2. In the slow cooker, add the diced potatoes, frozen peas, diced onion, diced tomatoes, cream of mushroom soup, beef broth, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir everything together to combine.
Cooking
  1. Cover the slow cooker and cook the Hamburger Hash on low for 6-7 hours, or until the potatoes are tender.
  2. About 15 minutes before serving, sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the hash. Cover and let the cheese melt, then gently stir to incorporate the melted cheese.
Serving
  1. Once the cheese is melted, your Slow Cooker Hamburger Hash is ready to serve! Scoop it up and enjoy this hearty, comforting meal.

Notes

Feel free to add more veggies, like carrots or bell peppers, for extra nutrition. If you like it spicy, add a pinch of red pepper flakes or some diced jalapeƱos. For a creamier texture, you can mix in some sour cream before serving. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge. It should last for up to 3-4 days. Reheat in the microwave or on the stove until warmed through.
