Ingredients
  

Pastry Base
  • 1 sheet sheet of puff pastry
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced Can substitute with other fruits.
Cream Cheese Filling
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened Soften for easy mixing.
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Egg Wash and Serving
  • 1 each egg For egg wash.
  • Powdered sugar for serving To sprinkle on top before serving.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and cut it into squares.
  3. In a bowl, mix the cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Place a dollop of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each pastry square.
  5. Top with sliced strawberries.
  6. Fold the corners of the pastry over the filling and pinch to seal.
  7. Brush the tops with egg wash.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
Serving
  1. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days, or refrigerate for about a week. Puff pastry may lose some flakiness when refrigerated. Use a sharp knife for clean cuts, and avoid overfilling pastries.
