Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. In another bowl, combine the flour and baking powder. Gradually add this to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk, until fully combined.
  6. If desired, divide the batter into smaller bowls and add food coloring to create different colors.
  7. Pour the batter into greased cake pans.
Baking
  1. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  2. Let the cakes cool completely before decorating.

  1. Once your cake is fully decorated and cooled, cut the cake into slices and place them on individual plates.
  2. Optional: Add a scoop of ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream on the side.
