  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying Ensure oil is hot for crispy texture
For Serving
  • 4 pieces sandwich buns
  • Pickles
  • Hot sauce For added flavor

Method

Preparation
  1. Marinate chicken thighs in buttermilk for at least 1 hour or overnight.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, cayenne pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
Cooking
  1. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Remove chicken from buttermilk, coat in the flour mixture, and fry until golden brown and cooked through.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix cayenne pepper with a bit of oil to make cayenne oil.

Notes

For a spicier kick, increase the amount of cayenne pepper. Store cooked chicken separately from buns/pickles to maintain crispness.
