- Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually mix into the wet ingredients until a soft dough forms.
- Wrap the dough and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to prevent spreading.
- Roll dough to 1/4-inch thickness, cut into heart shapes, and place on a lined baking sheet.
- Bake at 175°C (350°F) for 8–10 minutes until set but not browned. Cool completely.
- Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla to make icing. Divide icing and tint one portion pink.
- Gently swirl pink icing into white icing and dip or spread over cooled cookies. Let icing set before serving.
Notes
Do not overmix the icing to keep the marbled effect. Cookies store well at room temperature for up to 4 days.
