Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef or sausage, onion, and bell pepper until the meat is browned and the vegetables are softened. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in pizza sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
Assembly
- In a baking dish, layer half of the meat mixture, followed by a layer of cheese. Repeat the layers.
- Add your favorite toppings on the top layer of cheese.
Baking
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. For longer storage, freeze tightly wrapped for up to 2 months. You can prepare it ahead of time, just adjust baking time if coming directly from the fridge.
