Ingredients

For the Marinade
  • 1/2 cup Soy sauce
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons Honey or sugar for sweetness
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil for grilling or baking
For Serving
  • 4 pieces Chicken breasts
  • 4 cups Steamed rice
  • 2 cups Vegetables, your choice

Method

Preparation and Marination
  1. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, honey (or sugar), and black pepper to create the marinade.
  2. Place chicken breasts in the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Marinate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 4 hours in the refrigerator).
Cooking
  1. Preheat the grill or oven to medium-high heat.
  2. Grill the chicken breasts for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until cooked through, or bake in the oven at 375°F (190°C) for 25-30 minutes.
Serving
  1. Serve the grilled or baked chicken with steamed rice and vegetables on the side.
  2. Drizzle some extra marinade over the chicken for added flavor, and garnish with sesame seeds or chopped green onions if desired.

Notes

For a stronger flavor, marinate the chicken overnight. You can use garlic powder and ginger powder as substitutes. Add spices like sesame oil or chili flakes for extra kick. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
