Ingredients
  

Apple Filling
  • 2 cups Apples, peeled and diced Granny Smith or Honeycrisp recommended
  • 1/3 cup Brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 1 tsp Ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp Ground nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch
Crust & Assembly
  • 2 count Refrigerated pie crusts
  • 1 large Egg For egg wash
  • 1 tbsp Water For egg wash
Sweet Glaze
  • 1 cup Powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp Milk Add more if needed

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix diced apples, brown sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cornstarch until well combined.
  3. Roll out the pie crusts and cut into equal circles. Place a spoonful of apple filling in the center of each.
  4. Fold the dough over the filling, seal the edges with a fork, and cut a small slit on top for steam.
  5. Whisk the egg with water and brush over the tops of the hand pies.
  6. Bake for 22–25 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool slightly.
  7. Mix powdered sugar with milk to form a smooth glaze and drizzle over warm hand pies before serving.

Notes

These apple hand pies are best served warm. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days or freeze unglazed pies for later use.
