Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 1 lb boneless chicken, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish
  • Cooked rice or naan for serving

Method

Cooking
  1. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the garlic and ginger, cooking for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Add the chicken pieces and cook until browned on all sides.
  5. Pour in the diced tomatoes, heavy cream, garam masala, cumin, and salt.
  6. Allow the mixture to simmer for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce thickens.
  7. Serve hot over rice or with naan, garnished with fresh cilantro.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in yogurt and spices for a few hours before cooking. You can adjust the spice level by adding more or less garam masala and cumin. If you prefer a thicker sauce, let it simmer a bit longer, allowing more liquid to evaporate.
