Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined.

Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  2. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Decoration

Notes
