- Beat the softened butter in a mixing bowl for 2–3 minutes until smooth and creamy.
- Add powdered sugar one cup at a time, mixing on low speed until fully incorporated.
- Add vanilla extract, salt, and 2 tablespoons of cream or milk. Beat on medium speed until combined.
- Increase speed and whip for 2–3 minutes until light and fluffy. Add more cream if needed for desired consistency.
Notes
Store frosting in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Bring to room temperature and re-whip before using.
