Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C) and grease and flour a bundt pan.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, making sure to mix well after each addition.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add this mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Start and end with the flour mixture.
- Finally, stir in the vanilla extract.
Baking
- Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan.
- Bake for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn it out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Serve plain or dusted with powdered sugar. Enhance the cake with ice cream, fresh fruit, or drizzle chocolate or caramel sauce over the top. Store wrapped tightly in plastic wrap or in an airtight container.
