  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup Can use a low-fat version.
  • 1 cup milk Any type of milk can be used.

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder Adds a nice depth of flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon paprika For a subtle smokiness.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until tender.
  3. Add the ground beef, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook until the beef is browned.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced potatoes, cooked beef mixture, cream of mushroom soup, and milk. Stir until well combined.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish, and top with shredded cheese.
Baking
  1. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  2. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  3. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs like parsley or chives. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days or frozen for up to 3 months. Reheat in the oven or microwave before serving.
