  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce Optional; can substitute with mushroom sauce.
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch Helps in marinating the chicken.
Cooking Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil For stir-frying.
  • 1 each bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 cup broccoli florets Fresh is best.
  • 1 each onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • to taste cooked rice For serving.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, combine chicken slices with black pepper, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch. Mix well and marinate for 15-20 minutes.
Cooking
  1. Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Add marinated chicken to the pan and stir-fry until browned and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes.
  3. Add bell pepper, broccoli, onion, garlic, and ginger. Stir-fry for another 3-4 minutes until vegetables are tender-crisp.
Serving
  1. Serve hot over cooked rice, optionally garnished with chopped green onions or sesame seeds.

Notes

For a one-pan meal, consider adding more vegetables like carrots or snap peas. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for 2-3 days.
